Employment is a vital step in the journey to end homelessness. Finding employment can be incredibly challenging for individuals experiencing homelessness, and even securing a job doesn’t automatically result in entering stable housing. The Education and Employment Services team at DuPagePads provides resources to clients to enhance their job search skills, including resume assistance and mock interviews. DuPagePads also is fortunate to have community partners who understand our clients’ circumstances and work with them through the hiring process. One such incredible partner is Window Genie of Aurora/Naperville! Last month, Window Genie hosted a hiring event which resulted in the hiring of two of our clients who are currently staying at the IHC! On #HighFiveFriday, please help us show our appreciation for Window Genie's partnership and their fantastic team for interviewing our clients and providing them with new job opportunities. We are proud of our clients' achievements and grateful to have amazing organizations like Window Genie who help to prove that when someone believes in you, everything can change!

The solution to end homelessness.
About us
At DuPagePads, our mission is to end homelessness in DuPage County and we believe we have the solution: housing coupled with support services and employment. Recognizing 30 years of service, DuPagePads has assisted more than 28,000 people, provided nearly 700,000 nights of shelter and over 2,000,000 meals. As the largest and only non-restrictive shelter in the community, DuPagePads is essential to those who are homeless in DuPage County, Illinois. Operating 365 nights a year throughout the county, we first address the basic need for food and shelter, then provide comprehensive support services and Career Employment Solutions to address their individual barriers to return to a place to call “home.” Thank you for joining us and believing in our mission to end homelessness. We know… When someone believes in you, everything can change. Click here to see lives that have been transformed: http://dupagepads.org/what-we-do/success-stories/

DuPagePads is incredibly grateful to have been a recipient of the amazing kindness from @Wheaton Bible Church during their annual Care Fest. This group of over 1,000 volunteers teamed up to lend help to those in need across the community. Thank you for working hard at the Interim Housing Center to freshen up the grounds for all those who are on their journey to end their experience with homelessness! #ThankfulThursday

Your voice is needed! A survey by the DuPage County Continuum of Care aims to enhance understanding of the needs of underserved individuals in our community. Your input can help drive change and influence federal funding decisions over the next 5 years. This short survey is your opportunity to tell our community leaders we need increased support for individuals facing homelessness, and more affordable housing options to help end homelessness! Will you please take 2 minutes by May 31st to check the boxes for housing, homelessness, and the causes that matter to you? Thank you for sharing in our belief that every DuPage neighbor deserves a safe place to call home! https://shorturl.at/citK6

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing community for supporting our cause. This week we are seeking donations for summertime fun, including youth swim suits for K-8th graders and sunblock! If you can contribute on this #WishlistWednesday by donating or by sharing this post, your help is deeply appreciated!

DupagePads was thrilled to offer a raffle for all moms at the IHC last week! The grand prize winner was whisked away to Ny'L & Co located at Yorktown Mall on Friday for a makeover. Thanks to all the sponsors and everyone involved for an experience this client will never forget. We are so appreciative of all mothers and mother-like figures and wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all!

Happy #HighFiveFriday! Today we are happy to share about our Supportive Housing client, Randall, who has accomplished so much in the last few years with DuPagePads. Randall consistently sets goals for himself, and his case managers cheer him on as he achieves every single one! Most recently he was able to find a lawyer to help him apply for and begin receiving SSDI to help him improve his life with stable income. Randall also has made a promise to himself to focus on improving his health and has done so by making a dentist appointment and looking for medical help to properly treat his Parkinson’s disorder. We are so proud of Randall’s consistent hard work to better himself and can’t wait to see what he accomplishes next!

Another #ThankfulThursday means another opportunity for us to show our gratitude for an organization in the community who has dedicated so much of their time to help us on our mission to end homelessness. This week join us in thanking Nike for making snack packs for our IHC residents and being on-site to help with kids’ activities throughout the year. Our friends Anthony, Alazae Alfonso, and their teams at Nike have hosted food, clothing and toiletries drives, as well as contributed to holiday gift giving. Your support is deeply appreciated by our staff and our clients!
